THE WEATHER WE LEFT BEHIND

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

For Ellen and I it truly is a happy new year. We partied with Kathy and Bruce Tuesday and we both felt like s--t yesterday. As Dad would say "feeling a little puny". But today, all is well. Life is good again!

We went to the "condo" last night for a celebratory NYE prime rib dinner, but we could not do too much celebrating. It was all we could do to force down a glass of Champagne.
I did manage to cook the prime rib (16.5#) on the grill and prepare all the "fixings". Thankfully, it turned out really well. After dinner we all played golf, bowling, and tennis on Tim's new WII. It was fun, but we could not stay to bring in the new year, or take any of their money playing Ship-Captain-Crew. We really wanted to get Bob Chew's money.

So our time here is all but over. Tim and Dea drove this morning to the Keys to snorkle and won't get back until late. We are cleaning and packing up in preparation of an early departure tomorrow morning. Still can't get any pictures loaded so will have to try again another day.

Now Ellen is talking about driving today up to Bradenton to see The Boys (Vince and Kirk) and The Girls (Toni and Karen) and just hook up with me on the Interstate tomorrow. We'll see what happens.

In any event, the weather looks substantially cooler as we travel north from here, and then west until arriving in Southern Arizona then on into Mexico.

I did try the pictures and was successful.

Thumbnail moon (as Ellen's Mom, June Bug called them) behind the palm tree in front of our campsite taken while waiting for the Greenbergs to pick us up.

Ellen and I started out with Champagne as it was to be our NYE celebration with Kathy & Brucifer, Frank & Carolyn.

All of us at Trader's on Sanibel Island

This is a bad omen of how the night was going to turn out

Back at Brucifer and Kathy's house the situation deteriorated further until Frank went home and Brucifer (AKA Sleeping Beauty) said "no mas". The rest of the pictures are not fit for the Blog.

Even Isabelle could take no more!

These pictures are from the day before when the family went to The Fish House on Fort Myers Beach for a late lunch-early dinner

He's happy!

And she's happy!

He's never happy, but he has a cute hat with the palm leaves sticking up from it

She's definitely happy

There they go ... with Jan looking on

OK Karen, are you happy now?
