THE WEATHER WE LEFT BEHIND

Tonight's stop is Fort Stockton, TX. Out in the middle of nowhere!
Almost ran the motor home out of gas getting here. I was thinking of having an anxiety attack but knew that even though the gas gauge said empty, my calculations indicated we could make it to Fort Stockton. But chicken that I was I stopped at the first gas station in 100 miles and only 40 miles away from the "big city". Paid $0.75 per gallon more than the going rate but I was happy to get it. Only got 10 gallons, though, just enough to get us to a campground for the night.

Good, if not great, weather today; and great roads.

We've had to deal with several minor problems lately - broken DirecTv dish, Blue Ox tow bar not functioning properly without "gray tape" fix, Brake Buddy problem for three weeks but finally solved, and rear wheel cover coming loose and almost severing the tire valve stem, and tire wear after nearly 60,000 miles becoming a growing concern.

We will probably head for Las Cruces, NM tomorrow and spend 4-6 nights to rest awhile and get some things fixed, reapired, and replaced. We know of a great RV park that is spotlessly clean, has a fitness center, a nice pool, free breakfast, and close to everything in Las Cruces.

There is nothing to take pictures of in this interstate trek through Texas. Would only bore you as it does us. The best is yet to come so stay tuned!

It's late, good night.

Cindy and Mike - Ellen just read your email, So very sorry to hear about your loss of Jackson!
