THE WEATHER WE LEFT BEHIND

Friday, January 16, 2009

Nothing new here lately. We have been very busy but not doing anything exciting.

Just enjoying the sunny 75 degree days and clear cool 40 degree (or less) nights. We really have been blessed with the current weather pattern out here. Much warmer than the last two years when we visited the area. And, the weather back home? We see the weather channel, it has to be horrible.

Most of our time has been spent doing last minute preparations for the travel into Mexico. Too many details, details, details! Before we know it, each day is over and still more to do the next. We have not taken one real hike into the foothills yet. Hopefully tomorrow we will do something physical. Sunday football. And then maybe Monday

Right now looks like we will spend one additional night here at Catalina State Park - Monday. If one last part I need to fix the tow bar arrives by 2:00pm checkout on Tuesday we will travel south about 1.5 hour to the border and stay in Nogales, AZ. Staying there only Tuesday night to listen to the inauguration speech and fill the motor home with gas and propane. Then early Wednesday we will make the crossing. Want to get as far into Mexico as we can the first day. Still don't know for sure about internet access, cell phone reception, or DirecTV signals until we get down there.

Wish there was more to report.
The real adventure will start soon, however.
Keep watching!

Jim, Ellen, Isabelle, and Gracie
